Government Spending

Cut it! Period. End of Story.
Good government costs far less than bad government. We must live within our means. Government spending must be reduced to the amount of money it collects – and deliver fair value to the taxpayer for every dollar spent. Balancing the budget through hundreds of million in new debt as the state has done in recent years is NOT the answer.

Values

I will stand for the traditional values that have made this country great.
Some believe values like faith and family are outdated. I believe they are timeless. I’ll support the right to life, Second Amendment freedoms, the rights of students to pray in school and our right to publicly express our faith.

Taxes and the Economy

We can't tax ourselves to prosperity.
Lowering taxes, controlling government spending and eliminating harmful regulations will stimulate a new era of prosperity and private sector job growth. We must stop the bailouts and the harmful practice of government attempting to pick winners and losers in the economic marketplace.

Freedoms

Many of our key protections under the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution are gone. Government was never intended to have such sweeping, intrusive power over the lives of individual citizens. America was founded on the principles of personal liberty and freedom from unwarranted governmental control and regulations.

Health Care

The government should not be in the health care business.
ObamaCare and the government takeover of healthcare is a colossal mistake. Like all industries, health care would benefit from a free-market approach providing the best product and services at the best price.

Education

Money alone won't ever solve our problems in education.
I’m a strong supporter of school choice. Without government regulations and mandates, teachers, parents, and their local representatives would have the freedom to decide how and where funds are allocated. Competition in education will drive innovation and improve outcomes.

Public Safety and Immigration

Criminals work hard to go to jail. They should stay there.
Government should focus on getting core functions right - public safety is at the top of that list. Too many politicians put the rights of criminals ahead of law-abiding citizens. Last year's bill allowing the early release of criminals to help balance the budget was a huge mistake. So was the proposal to provide a state amnesty for illegal aliens. I’ll stand firm against illegal immigration and taxpayer benefits for illegals.

Mike Turner is the type of new conservative leader we need in politics today.

He’ll bring new energy, fresh ideas and strong conservative values to the State Capitol!

Active in His Church
Mike’s personal faith in Jesus Christ is central to his life. He grew up attending Henderson Hills Baptist Church. Today, Mike attends Life Church and is active in their Life Group ministry.

An Engineer and Inventor
Mike earned an academic scholarship to Southern Methodist University. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

An Entrepreneur and Job Creator
In addition to his engineering consulting, Mike and a group of partners have started two small businesses – a medical and exercise equipment manufacturer and a restaurant – which employ about 40 people.

As a small business owner, Mike knows what it takes to meet a budget, make a payroll and deal with government regulation.

A Volunteer Teacher and Science Instructor
From his time as a lab instructor at SMU to his visits to local classrooms, Mike takes great joy in sharing both the wonder of science and idea development with students.

At SMU, Mike helped 28 students, junior level through graduate level, manufacture their own MOSFET (metal on silicon field effect transistor) and understand fundamental concepts of Solid State Devices. His research helped further post-doctoral work on Quantum Well Intermixing in AlGaAs lasers. A solid understanding of engineering, physics, and manufacturing concepts was necessary to understand the technical and physical limitations that the students encountered.

By opening students’ eyes to the power of invention and innovation, Mike helps equip our students to succeed.

What people are saying about Paul

"Paul not only understands the constitutional principles of government that produced American Exceptionalism but also the indispensable role of faith and values in preserving the blessings of America. Paul has a proven record of standing and fighting for the traditional family, economic responsibility, limited government, and constitutional preservation. Neither Oklahoma nor America want more politicians; we need statesmen – we need Paul Blair."

David Barton
WallBuilders

"It is my great honor to endorse Paul Blair for the Oklahoma Senate. Now is the time for true conservatives and people of great courage to step up to the responsibilities of leadership. Paul Blair is not only a man of courage and character but he is also a man of faith who loves the nation and the state of Oklahoma. He is one of the toughest men I know and will not compromise his beliefs or his convictions. Paul is a leader and a mentor with a record of service to his community, his family, and his Lord. He is a nationally known figure who is respected and admired for his efforts to make a difference in the nation and the state of Oklahoma. His focus on protecting the US constitution and preserving the rights of the states are exactly what is needed in the Oklahoma Senate. I believe that it is critical that men like Paul Blair be elected to lead across the nation. The voters of Oklahoma will decide whether they want true conservative leadership in their legislature. I believe that they do. I believe that they will send Paul Blair to the State Senate to lead and to preserve the traditional values of the state of Oklahoma."

William G Boykin
Lieutenant General (Ret.) US ARMY

"I strongly endorse Paul Blair because of his fidelity to his Christian faith and his demonstrated convictions. He will speak up and stand up, with courage, for the values of faith, family and freedom that have made America great. Paul will advance constitutional conservatism and help define America's third century."

Ken Blackwell
Executive Vice President
National Federation of Republican Assemblies

FRC President Tony Perkins
and Paul Blair

"Paul Blair is a faithful Christian and a strong proponent of conservative values. His years serving his congregation at Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, show his commitment to faithfully leading and serving his community."

"As an athlete, businessman, and pastor, Blair has gained a solid understanding of the concerns of the people of Oklahoma. He will serve his constituency well by being a strong advocate for family values and pro-life issues in the Oklahoma legislature."

"Blair will wholeheartedly devote his time to the needs of the people of the 41st district, and we are pleased to endorse him for Oklahoma State Senate."

Family Research Council Action PAC

“Paul Blair is a great American! He is not afraid to run on to the field and tackle the tough issues. I ask my wonderful friends in Oklahoma to join me in rallying behind this courageous leader who will champion our values to victory! America needs Paul Blair!”

William J. Federer
Nationally known speaker
Best-selling author

"Paul Blair is a proven leader who will shake up the political 'business as usual crowd.' If you want real change and principled leadership, then you cannot find a better candidate for State Senate than Paul Blair. I have known Paul for many years. He is running for State Senate because he has a passion for America and the principles upon which it was founded. Paul can bring real reform to the political process. He will be a refreshing voice in the State Senate."

Mat Staver
Founder and Chairman, Liberty Counsel
Dean and Professor of Law
Liberty University School of Law
Lynchburg, VA

“For more than a generation Americans have decried the lack of leaders with moral courage and unshakable, forthright and upright character in our political leaders. In Paul Blair voters will find all of the above. Paul is a man of principle and courage. I recommend Paul Blair without hesitation to the citizens of Oklahoma. You will not find a man or woman in your state that is more forthright, honest and morally straight. He is widely read on state and national issues and knows the Constitution as well as any man I know. Better still, he is committed to upholding it. My only regret is that being a Texan, I cannot vote for Paul. I pray that Oklahomans of every political stripe will, for the sake of Oklahoma”.

Dr. Rick Scarborough
Vision America

"I am proud to say I have personally known Paul Blair for over fifteen years. I was privileged to get to know him through our Oklahoma chapter of the National Football League Players Association and also through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Paul’s walk with God is what drew me to him. What I saw in this giant of a man was a true man of God. His words and actions are the same today as the day I met him. I am honored to call him a genuine friend."

"Paul Blair encompasses the meaning of integrity, dignity, and honor. He always speaks the truth even if it may be unpopular. I think so much of Paul that nine years ago I asked him to marry my daughter and son-in-law. Not only did he perform the wedding, but he blessed us all with his words. I have heard Paul preach from his church in Edmond. Each time I hear him, he inspires me to be a better man."

"Paul Blair is definitely the man for the state senate job. I can’t think of anyone better for the position. I thought he might be too good of a person to get involved with politics, but after thinking it through I have decided he is exactly what we need at the capital."

"I know so many good things about Paul Blair that it makes it hard to narrow it down. We have worked together helping people through the Outreach battling addictions. Working side by side gave me yet another viewpoint of Paul; he truly cares for his fellow man without exception."

"I love Paul Blair as the brother he has become to me. He has consistently been there for me every time I’ve asked for his help. We need more men in this world like Paul Blair."

Jim Riley (and wife Robin)
Former OU Sooner and Member of the undefeated Super Bowl Champion Miami Dolphins
President and Founder of Jim Riley Outreach

"I have known Paul Blair for many years through our association as members of the Oklahoma Chapter of the NFL Player’s Association. Paul is a proven winner, devout Christian, honest and has the integrity and values to be a great leader in the Oklahoma State Senate."
